Report from the conference “SPA @ Hotel 2012” at the Worldhotel Exhibition 2012


Conference “The Spa @ Hotel 2012” was for people who want to acquire knowledge of the hotel spa market. And was initiated by the European Spa Foundation Spa with exhibitions organizer – WorldHotel. Jean-Guy de Gabriac attended as a special guest, well known as a spa consultant, who showed up purely for this event to share his knowledge and many years of experience.

During the three-day stay in Poland, Jean-Guy de Gabriac gave several interviews and as a mystery client visited two spas – Tuan Day Spa in Józefosław and Spa For You in Warsaw. The consultant was very happy with his stay in both places. He stressed the professionalism of the staff performing treatments and their positive attitude to the customer. In Tuan Day Spa he enjoyed Thai massage and facial treatment, while in Spa For You he was treated by massage mix created especially for him. It is one of the everyday practices of this resort – treatments are tailored to your needs – which is its great advantage.

During the divided into three panels conference attendees had an opportunity to learn how to design and manage a spa in order to gain the desired profits, how to manage staff to meet the expectations of customers and carry out their tasks with passion and how to run an effective email marketing to reach out to a group of customers with relevant information that will not go to the spam or bin. There were also presented results of the first spa hotel market research in Poland, which showed what are the opportunities and offers of spas in our country. The study was performed by the European Spa Foundation Spa in collaboration with the Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in Gdansk.

The conference, alongside Jean-Guy de Gabriac was also attended by leading Polish spa industry and marketing experts: Anita Bajdalska (owner of Manager Spa and certified Spa manager ISPA), Anna Koreńczuk (director of Spa & Wellness postgraduate studies in Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in Gańsk, www.spa-info.pl expert), Arkadiusz Dawidowski (vice president of ForSpa, spa market consultant, author of concepts of spa facilities – including: Czarny Potok Hotel), Arkadiusz Widawski (senior executive editor „Online Marketing Polska”) and Mirosław Włosik (co-founder and partner of Hotel Consulting Group).

The conference attracted more than 60 people from all over the country, who managing, work or design spa.
