Land specification and construction works

In terms of construction works, October will be an intense period for the Podzamcze Investment. Laying tons of concrete, the roof framework construction and preparing the lot for the needs of the future car park and the access road are the main goals for the construction team. Meanwhile, we are working on verifying the architectural design of the interior. We will present you with the outcome of these works in the next entry and for the time being provide you with a brief overview of challenges posed by the rock as a material to work with.

Despite certain advantages of the location on the highest point of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland near the castle ruins, there is no doubt that it poses numerous difficulties. As far as the future hotel is concerned, the location is perfect. Hotel guests will enjoy fantastic views from the window and the range of services will be broadened. The hotel may offer bouldering, hiking and bike trips.

For thousands of years, the surrounding of Podzamcze was part of a seabed which resulted in many rock layers, mainly limestone, dolomite, and marls. The property is situated on a decay-proof limestone rock of high durability.

Another great challenge that we decided to face consisted in arranging the lobby in such a manner that a rock outcrops directly from the floor, without being separated from the massif.

Rainwater abstraction from the extremely uneven land was another complex issue. We will discuss it here in the future.
